On the 28th and 29th of December 2015, around 100 teachers of ITHS from Gulshan, Uttara, Bogra and the Chittagong campus joined us at the ITHS Uttara campus for teacher development program.
Teacher development programs are essential as they keep teachers updated on teaching techniques, classroom management, new technologies for the classroom, and more. Moreover, brining educators with varied level of experience together is sure to help all the participants widen their horizon through sharing of new and different concepts. The first day of the two day workshop began with a warm welcoming speech by Mr. Isa Guler, Head of the Junior Section, and continued with an enlightening presentation by Mr. Ubbriz on Engaging Students during the Lesson and then a very descriptive demonstration on First Aid. The second day commenced with a presentation by Ms. Fatema on An Overview of English Pronunciation which was attended by all pre-school teachers, while the junior section teachers were involved in text book, lesson plans, and worksheet discussion with the Head of Subjects. A demo class on Engaging Newcomers in the New Environment was also arranged for the Pre-KG and Nursery teachers. Finally the program concluded with a presentation on How to Write a Proper Lesson Plan by Ms. Afifa.
Our students deserve the very best of the education system ITHS offers, and we hope that organizing regular workshops for the educators will facilitate the improvement we aim to bring about in our students and their classrooms.
